A former Netflix star found herself in deep trouble after being caught smuggling a huge stash of drugs into the UK. Olga Bednarska, a 27-year-old who appeared on the popular reality show Too Hot to Handle, was stopped at Manchester Airport with two large suitcases. What customs officers found inside was shocking—nearly 40 kilograms of cannabis, worth about £150,000.
Olga’s story is a tangled one. She claimed a friend, known only as “Tex,” set the whole thing up. According to her, Tex paid for her flights to Thailand, telling her to bring back designer clothes and fancy watches from Phuket. But things didn’t go as planned. When she landed back in the UK on October 20, officials asked her to unlock the suitcases. That’s when the truth unraveled—Olga didn’t even know the code to open them. Inside, beneath some clothes, officers discovered the tightly packed drugs.
When questioned, Olga admitted she had packed the bags herself but insisted she was only helping out her so-called friend. She explained that Tex had promised her £18,000 for the trip and even gave her spending money to buy the suitcases. Unfortunately for Olga, this so-called favor turned into a criminal case.
The court heard how Olga had been living beyond her means, racking up debts of £16,000 while chasing a lavish lifestyle. Desperate to clear what she owed, she agreed to this risky scheme. The judge, however, didn’t let her off the hook completely. While acknowledging she had been pressured into the crime, he made it clear that smuggling drugs has serious consequences.
Judge John Potter said, “You trusted someone you barely knew, and your actions have contributed to the harm drugs cause in our communities.”
Olga, who has been in custody since her October arrest, was given a 20-month suspended prison sentence. This means she won’t go to jail as long as she stays out of trouble for the next two years. She’s also been ordered to complete 15 days of rehabilitation to help her turn her life around.
